Create School Years

CREATE SCHOOL YEARS

Step 1: Create a School Year

From the Home Screen:

  • Navigate to the Settings menu



Add a School Year:

  • Title: Enter the title for the school year
  • Code: Assign a unique code for the school year
  • Order: Specify the order of the school year
  • Type: Select whether it is a Regular or Summer period


Activate the School Year:

  • In the Actions section, activate the school year by clicking the Activate button

Step 2: Create Semesters

Go to Semesters Section:

  • Navigate to the Semesters section


Add a New Semester:

  • Click on the New Semester button at the upper right corner of the screen
  • Title: Enter the title for the semester
  • Academic Year: Select the academic year you created in Step 1 from the dropdown menu
  • Start Date: Set the start date of the semester
  • End Date: Set the end date of the semester

Step 3: Create Quarters within the Semester

Navigate to Quarters:

  • Once you have created the semester, the system should allow you to create quarters automatically.
  • Title: Enter the title for the quarter
  • Start Date: Set the start date of the quarter
  • End Date: Set the end date of the quarter


Ensure Dates Fit:

  • Repeat the process to create additional quarters, ensuring that:
    • The dates of all quarters fall within the start and end dates of the semester.
    • The dates of the semesters align with the overall academic year.

Important Notes

Check Overlaps: Verify that none of the dates overlap incorrectly. Validation: The system should validate that quarter dates fit within the semester dates and semester dates fit within the academic year dates. Ensure this validation process is completed successfully.
