Role Permission Manager

This is a function that was designed so that the principal of each educational institution can define the roles that each employee fulfills and uses in CollegeOne.

Step 1: Toggle the Management Mode

Locate the toggle button in the User space that lets you choose between managing permissions by role or by user. Select the desired management mode:

  • By Role: Toggle the button to the By Role position if you want to manage permissions for all users registered under a specific role.
  • By User: Toggle the button to the By User position if you want to manage permissions for an individual user.


Step 2: Managing Permissions by Role

Ensure the toggle button is set to manage permissions by role. A list of roles will appear. Select the role you wish to manage permissions for. Define the permissions for the selected role, which will apply to all users registered under this role:

  • Allow: Click Allow to grant specific permissions to this role.
  • Deny: Click Deny to restrict specific permissions for this role.


Step 3: Managing Permissions by User

Ensure the toggle button is set to manage permissions by user. A space will appear to enter the name of the user you want to edit. Type the name of the specific user. From the list of search results, select the user whose permissions you wish to manage. Define the permissions for the selected user:

  • Allow: Click Allow to grant specific permissions to this user.
  • Deny: Click Deny to restrict specific permissions for this user.


Step 4: Assign Permissions

A list of permissions will be displayed, which might include access to certain modules, the ability to edit data, view reports, etc. For each permission listed, click "Allow" or "Deny" based on what you want to grant or restrict for the selected role or user. After setting the permissions, ensure you save the changes by looking for a "Save" or "Apply Changes" button and clicking it to confirm your settings.
